Q:
Is chiropractic SAFE?
A:
ABSOLUTELY!!!! Millions and millions of Americans get adjusted each day as means of a safe alternative to surgery or medication.
Q:
Do the adjustments hurt?
A:
Most of our patients talk about how great their adjustments feel. Some people have been misinformed that chiropractic adjustments are "rough", but rest assured... they are quite gentle!
Q:
What techniques does Dr. Thompson use?
A:
Dr. Thompson recognizes that no patient is alike and each patient requires a different approach. Dr. Thompson is well versed in many different adjustment techniques such as Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, CBP, Pierce and Toggle Recoil. Dr. Thompson works closely to the patient to find which adjustment technique works best for both the doctor and the patient.
Q:
How much do visits cost?
A:
Rockingham Chiropractic Center accepts and files ALL insurances. Many of our patients do not have insurance benefits, but our care is made affordable. Our care program allows for patients to be here at a cost of less than an average co-pay for each visit!

We are excited to be offering Care Credit at Rockingham Chiropractic Center. This option allows for low monthly payment plans with no interest so that you and your family can get adjusted regularly. Some of our patients have found this option to work best for them. Ask us today how it works. https://www.carecredit.com
Q:
I hate waiting anytime I go to the doctor - how long is your wait time?
A:
We value your time just as much as we value ours. We carefully schedule our patients so our average wait time is less than 5 minutes!
Q:
How does Chiropractic help with headaches?
A:
It is estimated that over 75% of headaches are classified as "cervicogenic" headaches. Cervicogenic headaches are characterized by chronic hemicranial pain that is referred to the head from either bony structures or soft tissues of the neck. Chiropractic care helps correct the underlying structure in means of relieving the headaches.
Q:
Do medical doctors refer their patients to chiropractors?
A:
Each day more and more of our patients are referred by medical doctors. Many medical doctors see tremendous benefit of chiropractic care while others prefer to monitor their patient's symptoms via medication or surgery. Unfortunately, many of patients who have had previous neck or back surgery actually feel the same or worse after their surgery. This trend in failed neck and back surgeries have resulted in many doctors referring their patients to chiropractors for safe, quick, and effective correction.
Q:
Do I have to have a referral from my medical doctor or specialist?
A:
No, most of our patients do not come in with a referral.
Q:
Why should I get adjustments when medication seems to be helping me?
A:
Medication for the most part serves one purpose - to cover up the symptoms. Unfortunately, many people continue to dose themselves frequently with prescription or over the counter medication to manage their pain. In doing so, the problem oftentimes gets progressively worse causing more damage. Chiropractic focuses on CORRECTING the problem as opposed to masking the symptoms. Think about taking Tylenol for a toothache caused by a cavity as opposed to going to the dentist and having the cavity filled.
Q:
I have had multiple surgeries on my spine. Can chiropractic still help me?
A:
YES! A large percentage of our patients have had multiple surgeries on their neck or back or even both areas. These patients benefit tremendously from chiropractic adjustments.
Q:
Who should have their spines checked?
A:
EVERYBODY!!! Just like regular dental check-up is essential to optimal dental health; spinal check-ups are a must in order to maintain/achieve optimal spinal health.
Q:
Should children get their spines checked?
A:
YES! Again, EVERYBODY should have their spines checked occasionally. We treat many children for scoliosis, headaches, back pain, etc. Many of our young patients that start care actually did not have any symptoms, they get adjusted because they know that in order to have a healthy spine that it needs to be properly maintained!
Q:
I have tried chiropractic before and it did not work. I have even heard that chiropractors are "quacks"! How are you going to be different?
A:
Yes, there are chiropractors that are quacks, thieves and lunatics. However, there are medical doctors, bankers, attorneys that are quacks, thieves and lunatics too! If you went to a bad dentist, you would look for another one rather than waiting for your teeth to fall out. If your plumber couldn't fix a broken pipe in your house, are you going to let your house flood? No! So, if you have been to a bad chiropractor, find yourself a better one. (P.S.: In cases where "Chiropractic didn't work," I find that 9 out 10 times, the Chiropractor wasn't even serious enough about Chiropractic and your well-being to take X-ray's and provide a detailed plan of care for you.)
